Sounds like they didn't make it, so all the way down the aisle it went.

A few years ago, an article as lowbrow as this would never have been written, much less published. That's incredibly tacky, tabloid, and just plain in poor taste. Look at how explicit is this article. Shameful, absolutely shameful.

Trash news for a trash society.

There is a writer and at least one editor who should have been fired on the spot for that embarrassing garbage.

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

While agree that journalistic standards have nosedived in recent years, it's the NY Post after all... They've already had the reputation for trending towards the shock/sensationalist/tabloid side of the news spectrum for at least the past several decades now.

Who can forget this infamous headline example, which dates from 40 years ago:

Yeah... it's the NY Post after all...
but although sensationalist it's still more truthful than the NY Times.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The first line of the article I would have expected here, not in a major publication.

Such an article is as pathetic as those sites that 'report' on what is on somebody's social media post. Incredibly lazy and clearly content filler.

The NY Post is all over the map, they also broke the "Laptop from Hell" article that was subsequently suppressed, so there's that. Razz

It would have been locked the second I saw it, and after an interval to allow members to see the kind of thing that gets locked around here, I would have deleted it.
And if you guys think this kind of thing comes only from the NY Post, you're fooling yourselves. It's on FoxNews and was for a while their banner story, and you can find this tacky shit all over the internet.

If the title of this thread hadn't been so vague and misleading, it would have gotten locked on sight.

Yellow Journalism is of course not new. It actually pre-dates the term. The problem is this stuff is very common and accepted without a single objection, and that is new.
