Several months ago I asked about car air compressor recommendations.
https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...430056915#7430056915

I end up buying a VIAIR compressor.

This was the coolest morning we have had in central Florida this summer.
My wife had a dentist appointment this morning and you guessed it, the tire light came on.

So out came the new compressor and boy was I impressed.
Each tire was about 5psi low. In the amount of time it would have taken with the old compressor to top off one tire I had all 4 tire back up to pressure.

So Thank You everyone

That light bulb that goes off and you think "Why didn't I do this sooner?" the first time you use your new tool is fun. Doubley so if you had been using the cheapest version of said tool for 10 years and the new tool is a significant upgrade, like going from a $50 Craftsman jigsaw to a $200 Bosch.

Beautiful cool, 75ish, morning right now and I'm going to have to break mine out. With the double hose, I hook the electric to one vehicle and do 4 vehicles without moving the compressor.

I bought a Milwaukee one a year or two ago. I love it and use it often.

I blew out my sprinklers the other day and when wheeling out my big compressor to do the job, the fitting for the sprinkler system was still attached to the end of the hose. Last time I used it was last fall when I blew out the sprinklers.

I bought the Makita. I should test it before trusting it.

Yes even though it was a pain to do it last minute, there was a strange sense of satisfaction while pumping up the tires.

I tested my (small) Makita. It's not as fast at the Milwaukee but it did the job well enough. 4 tires from 25 to 32 psi, about 1 to 1.25 min each tire (trigger on to auto-off). The gauge would read 32psi but auto-off wouldn't trigger for another 10 sec or so (not sure why); I think it led to about 1 psi over pressure.

The Milwaukee would probably be faster but I'm moving from Milwaukee Fuel M18 system to Makita LXT 18V. If I need more speed, I'll probably get the bigger brother Makita inflator (perhaps useful for the truck tires; I'll test those in winter; although I have the viair for that).

I ended up with the VIAIR 85P. It is the analog/manual version with the twist on air chuck.
I probly should have bought the digital version however I always check my tires with a gauge after filling to verify tire pressure.

I am very impressed so far.

I have one I've carried in my truck for the last five years or ago, I've used it on the road a few times, when picking up a very heavy load, and keeping a tire up with a nail in it until I can get it to the shop, things like that. The quality for such a small unit is the best in the market as far as I can tell. Mine hooks up to the 12v car battery, so you never have to worry about batteries.
