Covid, and our school district's response, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I was at the first board meeting this year which had two other parents in attendance. Immediately afterword a woman who was watching online started a facebook group, and I was the first to join with her.

We have now grown that group to roughly 200 and work with other groups who are fighting the same problems with districts in their area. Our district is fairly small with approximately 1,500 students.

Two board seats were up for reelection, both have been members for well over a decade (one decades with an s), and we decided to make a go at it. Not that any of us were particularly interested in being on a school board, but we felt that it was our duty in light of what they have been doing to our children.

As our group has grown, and time has passed, more and more issues have come to light. Many of these issues seem to be the common theme nationwide. We have had enough.

We camped out in the cold from early this morning to make sure we were the first in line. Our district places you on the ballot in the order in which you filed. They weren't expecting that. We have Beth on the ballot first, I'm second, the current president of the board is third, we had Isaac (guy on the left) follow him in to become fourth, and the current treasurer who's been a fixture since 1995 is fifth. We suspect the waters may be muddied a bit more as a few others file in the future.

I suppose I need to start scrubbing my social media Wink

Cool Big Grin

Seriously, thanks for standing up. We need more people like you who will.
I was on the Mehlville School Board for two terms, 6 years. It isn't easy for a guy like us. The teachers unions aren't pro-liberty.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I was just up at the dealership crawling around under it with their service manager. It's a good news/bad news situation, so I'm going to need to run some math to see if it's sticking around or if I should be shopping a replacement.

Did you serve with Mike Ocello?

True, but thanks to the district conducting some surveys that we were able to sunshine out of them, we know that roughly 64% of our teachers themselves agree with us.

Sounds very similar to how I ended up on my former HOA Board. "I don't want to do it, but someone ought to stop them, so here I go."

Best of luck in your endeavor!

No. He served shortly after I finished.

You'll be an excellent addition, Frank!

Heck with the bus, do you still have the deuce and a half? That would be great for promotional appearances!

Give 'em hell!

I wish you luck and success. You might not fix everything but even putting the brakes on and thrusting up roadblocks to their communist agendas will be a great thing.

Excellent!! That is how it starts, being willing to put yourself out there to make a difference. Just be prepared, you’ll deal with more personnel issues than you realize. Campaign hard, keep your eyes and ears open and don’t be afraid to ask questions. If I can do anything to help you, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email or text (I think I gave you my phone# when I replied to your last email). Push for transparency, that is what will drive community and staff trust with your central office admin and board. Good luck!!

Good for you, but please stay focused.

I didn't get into politics, but I did come out of retirement, getting back into LE after 2020's ANTIFA, Defund the Cops and BLM riots pushed my button hard.

I remember more and more why I retired, and I don't know for how much longer I can keep this up. I patrol a deeply Red area, but the meth addicts are ruining it for the citizens as well as for me.

I try to stay focused and resolute, and I hope you can as well in your political endeavors.
