How to recover deleted text messages
I am pretty much a tech dummy, so bear with me on this.

I have an android phone and deleted a bunch of my text by mistake. I need to retrieve these. Is there anyway to do this, and if so how far back will I be able to go?

Thanks

On my android they aren't "deleted" they're moved to the "trash" and can be recovered.

Go to your messaging app, tap the three vertical dots and "trash" should appear on the drop-down menu.

From there you should be able to restore the ones you want.

My Samsung S9 doesn't have the capability to retrieve deleted text messages. When I tap the 3 vertical dots there's no trash option so once a message is deleted its gone for good.

I have a Google Pixel so I don't think I could get more of an Android experience.

What messaging app are you using? This is not an option in Google Messages.

My Samsung 23 does not have a trash option when I open the three dots either.

If it is absolutely vital, perhaps your phone company can get them to you. Surely it will take some time and probably some expense but they can do it I bet.

I always make a backup of my texts on my iPhone using DecipherTextMessage. It has a search feature. The backed-up messages proved to be invaluable in a legal action I had to initiate.

I don't know...whatever comes standard with Android on a Samsung Galaxy A14. If someone with more phone smarts than me can tell me how to dig deeper, I'd be happy to.

Yep, I see that now. You're using the Samsung Messages app. I missing out.

Thanks. This worked like a charm.

FYSA quick search yielded this app FonePaw that can recover your data. No experience here.
