JALLENRemarks by President Trump at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Reception
One of the qualities which draw many of us to President Trump is his unconcealed admiration and respect for veterans and the military
At the link are his remarks at the reception at the White House for the Medal of Honor Society this afternoon attended by 32 MOH recipients, about half the living ones.

mike56As an aside, it is simply the Medal of Honor. Congress has nothing to do with it.
Nor are they in any form, Honorable.

ChicagoSigManVery nice remarks...clearly heartfelt.
But I've always heard that it is incorrect to say one "wins" the Medal of Honor. If that is true, I'm surprised his protocol folks didn't pick it up when the remarks were reviewed.

If you look at the link, you will see the headline I used was verbatim from the White House, and that the President used the term in his remarks.
I refer you also to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society
http://www.cmohs.org/ whose members were honored at the WH.
On the website the following is found:
quote:
The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. Generally presented to its recipient by the President of the United States of America in the name of Congress.
