Sounds pretty great to me. As a GT alum, the area around campus can go from decent to bad in a hurry. There are many instances reported of students walking home with thousands of dollars worth of laptops and equipment, with no way to defend themselves, being robbed. Also, Georgia State's campus is interwoven all throughout downtown and I'm certain I've technically carried on the campus unknowingly and may have been in violation of the letter of the law. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Got to walk before you run. This tactic has been very effective here in GA. This group has been a big part of this. http://www.georgiacarry.org/ ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Honestly, the only real difference in this bill and the one Gov Deal vetoed last year are the provisions about daycares on campus (non issue), areas where HS students may be joint-enrolled (non issue), and that it doesn't apply to faculty, staff, or admin buildings (which sucks for them.) But the students that this really matters to are the ones living off campus, coming to class every day, and then returning home. And they are well taken care of in this bill. The bill that he vetoed last year already had the provisions for athletic facilities, dormitories, and fraternity and sorority houses. and yes, Georgia Carry is probably the best thing to happen to this state, in terms of firearms freedom, since 1791. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

How so if they can't bring the weapon into their classroom? All this law does is allow someone to CC across the campus. Basically, you can't bring it into any building... Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

where do you get that? you can absolutely carry in the vast majority of classrooms. the only classrooms you wouldn't be allowed to carry would be classrooms related to college-and-career academy (vocational type school where GED and HS students go who do not have interest in college. these are usually on their own campuses.) and classrooms in which high school students are joint-enrolled (not many at a place like georgia tech. maybe more at general liberal arts schools like kennesaw state or georgia state, but still a small minority.) I'd rather have luck than skill any day |
We tried to pass this last year, the Gov vetoed it. It's watered down from what we wanted, but we take what we can get. And this was all we were gonna get this year. I consider it a victory nonetheless.

I'll do a commercial recommendation for GeorgiaCarry.Org We, as an organization are making slow but steady steps in improving gun laws here in Georgia. If you look at what has happened here in the last 10 years, it's all because of GCO. What a great organization, working to improve our rights. If you are in Georgia, please join! http://www.georgiacarry.org/ "Ride to the sound of the big guns."
