Like Fukishima, it sounds like their "redundancy
systems" were in the same proximity as the ones initially going up in flames.

MitchbSC Atlanta Airport Blackout Sends Message to Terrorists: America Is UnpreparedThe drooling morons running that sh*tshow learned and did nothing from 9-11. Includes airlines and "goobermint." They're totally unprepared still to handle a black swan event. They've just reminded the world of it.
Pour a glass of aloha snackbar refreshment into a transformer and watch America collapse like a cheap lawn chair.

Chick-Fil-A Feeding Stranded Atlanta Passengers ON A SUNDAY:
After Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport experienced a major blackout Sunday, Chick-fil-A stepped up to feed thousands of stranded passengers despite being closed on Sundays.
Georgia Power is working to restore electricity after a fire at an underground facility caused the power outage early Sunday afternoon, according to WSBTV.
Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed tweeted a status update Sunday night, and thanked Chick-fil-A for providing over 2,000 meals to the weary travelers.
Chick-fil-A is usually closed on Sundays because their founder, Truett Cathy, emphasized the importance of setting aside one day a week for religious worship and rest. The official Twitter account for the airport tweeted photos of customers being fed and called it a “Christmas miracle.”

nhtagmemberI read where passengers were getting off aircraft by using the emergency escape slides
would it not have been easier on the aircraft just to roll a set of stairs up to the door?
all those temporarily un-airworthy aircraft on the ramp must be doing wonders for their scheduling
what a total clusterfuck

Miracle? How about a private company that's known for its philanthropy stepping up and helping out people? How about that?

This. They're good people who have yet to fail to answer the call.

ibandaPassengers are starting to make it home from Atlanta and they are grouchy today!
It's nice that Chik-fil-a went in and worked on a Sunday, but I am not that impressed. My company has several hundred employees at ATL and they all worked double shifts yesterday and last night. We won't get any feel good press about it, they just did their jobs.
I have a few SIGs.

soflaacKudos to Chick-Fil-A for opening and serving during a well known scheduled close for their business.
Regarding working a double shift? I've never been shy about working extra shifts / overtime / emergency anything - the key is being compensated for same. If there is compensation, then the other slugs can get the accolades, I'm being paid.

The left (which includes most of the media) HATES Chick Fil A. Don't expect to see any mention of this outside the ATL area.
