Homeless was found to be offensive to indigenous dolphins, so we had to scrap it to be more inclusive.

Get with the times, these kinds of micro-aggressions are extremely problematic and the optics suck.

Now that he has transmogrified from "experiencing homelessness to experiencing lifelessness", he will have permanently cured his homelessness status if the good people of Denton will donate him a plot of his own.

We have a lot of individuals, all around the small towns of AZ. They may be homeless. They are so high on meth or whatever that you have to get away from them.
That guy in Denton probably didn't even feel anything, no idea what he was doing.
Kinda reminds me of that golfer taking on that hockey player that was in a different thread (drunk).
When you get to that point, there is no reasoning left.

Good question, and the answer is without a doubt the AP, as someone said above. They provide a dictionary of sorts for the media, and most of the common speak is of their creation. This is why the "Gulf of America" was such a big deal to AP. They refused to add it to their suggested vocabulary base, which gave other outlets an excuse to not use it.

As if homelessness was an excuse for his behavior. He could have been experiencing gout, hammer toe, and diarrhea also. None of which would have caused him to be ventilated. Leftists try their BS again.

Homelessness. Tulsa began Operation Safe which is where police are cleaning out dope addict and alcoholic encampments. (AKA, "homeless.")

The police said that of over 100 addicts/alcoholics, police offered them rehab and help to get straight.

They had exactly one who accepted. The rest literally said they loved their lifestyle.

That's what stupid liberals ignore, viz. liberal policies of tolerance are merely enabling these bums.

That is similar to our stats in the St. Louis area. My former department worked with a mental health liaison on getting getting homeless people apartments, but they had to abide by the rules. Very few accepted the offer. The stats on those who took the offer of a home were as follows; after three months-only 30% of them were still in a house or an apartment, after a year-only .03% were still in a house or apartment. The rest either left or were kicked out for failing to follow the rules or maintain their house or apartment.

Unfortunately those statistics ring true everywhere. Unfortunately, there are groups of folks who are so arrogant that they think they can fix this situation. Jesus said we would always have the poor with us and He’s yet to be wrong.

We called them winos where I grew up. That is probably too quaint nowadays, as I’m sure these feral street folk are running on something stronger than Night Train.

Glad to see a happy ending and this man will not be prosecuted. Good riddance to the waste of oxygen.

Thread drift… night train famously was made he Gallo Winery and they were ruthless in their business and marketing it was like 17% alcohol. The sales guys would go to skid row as they called it back then late 50’s early 60’s. And they would salt the gutters with empty bottles of Ripple, Night Train, thunderbird that Gallo all made. As well as giving samples to said bums

The sales guys would also take a spritz bottle of oil and spray competition brands bottles in the stores so they would attract much more dust and people would want the non dusty gallo brand.

Absolutely brutal business tactics even along their own family members.

It was pure gold watching the wrath of the lefties. Must have been a white man who shot him and a “hand picked” jury. Welp, nope. Black man, and clearly they don’t understand that grand jurors get summoned just like other jurors…

Grand jury declines to indict man in fatal downtown Denton shooting last month
www.dallasnews.com
A Denton County grand jury on Tuesday declined to indict the man accused of fatally shooting another man in downtown Denton last month, according to police.

Authorities never released the shooter’s identity, and it is not immediately clear if he was ever arrested in connection with the incident. However, Denton police said the grand jury returned a “no-bill,” which means it declined to formally charge the man with a crime after reviewing the evidence.

Jon Ruff, a 61-year-old man experiencing homelessness, died after being shot several times about 12:10 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 200 block of West Hickory Street, according to a previous news release.

Multiple 911 callers reported the shooting in the Denton downtown square, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicated the shooter was with his family in the square when he and Ruff got into a disturbance, police previously said.

The altercation continued in the 200 block of West Hickory Street, police said, which is where the gunman shot Ruff “multiple times,” police said.

Ruff was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police said the shooter, however, remained on the scene and was detained by officers for questioning. He continued to cooperate with the investigation, police said.

Denton police presented all evidence to the district attorney’s office for an independent grand jury review. After the jury returned a no bill of indictment Tuesday, the department said its investigation into the deadly incident is now closed.

“Denton Police Department respects the grand jury’s decision and extends condolences to Ruff’s family, friends, and loved ones,” officials said in a news release Tuesday.
