BytesSavannah Ga Vacation Question
The wife and I love renting cars and doing road trips in the south east. We've done the Alabama and Mississippi tours and really enjoyed the interactions we had with the locals. We're considering hitting Savannah Ga starting 10-01 through 10-7 this year. Is that a good time of year to miss the mongering hoards of tourists and is that a good time of year weather wise?

That is all I need to know. Thanks for the response! The wifey and I were afraid that it may be popular year round.

Rolan_KrapsPERFECT TIME of year to go to Savannah!
Read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" first (you could see the movie, but the book is much better).
Tour the city, See "The Mighty Eighth" USAF Museum in Pooler. Go out to Tybee Island and see the Revolutionary War Ft. Pulaski and the light house. Take a "Ghost tour" if so inclined. See St. Bonaventure cemetery.
Neat history, great food.

CQB60Stay on Tybee island and visit Ft.Pulaski on a day trip into Savannah. River street is great for a late morning stroll. Keep in mind, The overall crime rate in Savannah is 45% higher than the national average.
