So You Named Your Little Girl ABCDE?
Source: https://www.ksl.com/article/46...old-girls-abcde-name

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A woman says a Southwest Airlines agent in Southern California mocked her 5-year-old daughter's 'Abcde' name when they were preparing to board a flight home to Texas.

KABC-TV reported late Wednesday that Traci Redford accused a gate agent at Orange County's John Wayne Airport of laughing at her daughter's name and posting a photo of her boarding pass on social media.

The girl's name is spelled with the first five letters of the alphabet and is pronounced "AHB-sih-dee."

Redford says the family was pre-boarding because her daughter has epilepsy.

She says she asked the agent to stop and that someone saw the social media post and notified Southwest.

Southwest issued a statement apologizing to the family. The airline says it has followed up with the employee.

I'd make fun of her too, just not so that the little girl could hear it. Pretty damn rude if you ask me, it's not the little girls fault her mom is a fucking moron.

Agent should have had some class and waited five minutes to ridicule the mother.

C'mon, it's not that hard. Big Bird figured out how to pronounce it in 1969. Wink

And yes, by golly, I am posting a link to the song! Starts at 1:20, so you only have to waste 150 seconds of your precious life if you are brave enough...or bored enough. Big Grin

Kind of amusing. The article added the following correction.

quote:
This version corrects that the girl's name is Abcde, not Abdce.

It could have been worse I usually use “Asdf” when filling out web page forms with fake names.

In the distant past, a guy's parents just gave him initials, no first and middle names. Just R.B. Smith.

When reporting for induction in the Army, he filled out his name as R(only) B(only) Smith. From then on, he was called Ronly Bonly Smith.

Just to make sure we’re clear on this....
They were flying home to Texas. That’s completely possible if they’re transplants from Commiefornia. Texas doesn’t naturally have that particular version of stupid.

Agreed.

But mom is still a moron.

If only that were true. I love Texas and most Texans, but we have some dopes.

Somehow the story reads as if this was the first time someone thought it was odd that the child was named Abcde after four years.
The poor child will have to put up with this crap until they are of legal age and able to change it themselves.

If they have another one, will they name it Fooyahidge? Kylmenoh? Pykuwarest? Yevuwatie? Whateef!

(Hopefully they aren't reading this and think it would be a good idea for their next four youngins...)

I have come across a teenage girl with that first name in Texas. Either it is the same one, or there is more than one. That is pretty moronic to name your child that.

As someone who deals with kids names every single day, I can absolutely refute this statement.

Wife was watching Entertainment Tonight (or something like that) and they claimed some 300 girls have that name.
