Weird news: Wells Fargo employee died in her cubicle 4 days before being discovered
I'm guessing she is working remotely going forward

Wells Fargo will now add some epic new employee handbook paragraph; How to check your fellow workers before going home". Diversity, Equality, Inclusion - it doesn't stop by something as mundane as death

(Sorry for the gallows humor, it's a coping mech..., nah, it's just too easy)

Early 90s, I was handed a physical employee handbook. There was a written rule: “No cooking is allowed in bathrooms.”

I talked about it with my coworkers and, apparently, no one in my group was aware of the rule. How that rule came to be documented must have been some story.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Wells Fargo doesn’t care about an employee, think they care about your account ?

They will use this as an excuse to force back to the office work.

What says more about giant heartless mega corps in 2024 than this story.

We had an employee suffer a stroke after everyone in her "wing" of the office had left. The cleaning people found her on the floor. Thank goodness, or she might have died.

I was just discussing the DaD retirement plan with my dental hygienist recently. Working from home, I really should give my boss the number to my property manager Roll Eyes

Oh this just reminded me of Covid! (good times, at least for me anyway)

Working every other day, alternating three day weekends. Plus I took a couple other days off to go turkey hunting, five days in the woods. This is how I left my office.

Still at work even after death. That is dedication.

It was a job to die for.

Late to the thread, but I've interacted with a few WF "customer service" employees who would fit this category.

Also, I hope they paid the OT she earned for being in the office all weekend!

Back in my college days, I worked a 3rd shift security job and on my rounds would check every room, desk and window. Can't image how lazy someone was.

Perhaps the cleaning people had the long weekend off. After four days, forensically speaking, the odor must have been overwhelming and hard to ignore. Whatever the reason or excuse, this is on the company.
