Anybody else following the race? Who's your favorite to win?

I'm rooting for Kelly Maixner #22. #gomadstorck!

The first team, Waerner, is out of Unalakleet which means the coastal portion has started. It's unseasonably warm (i.e. soft snow during day and ice at night) plus a winter storm warning has been issued. So far, no hurricane force winds forecast the next few day, but that is always a possibility along the coast.

I'm following, went to dog handler school on Friday, was in the staging area for the ceremonial start on Saturday and then drove up to Willow for the re-start on Sunday. Rooting for Pete Kaiser, his sister is one of our charge nurses.

Photo from the trail tonight, unknown photographer.

Just watched Thomas Waerner and his team cross under the burled arch in Nome. Congrats to him and his team on the win.

He lead a long time. Mitch Seavey is 2nd thru Safety and he’s been really moving up through the field the past few days.

The others best finish today as there is a winter storm warning mentioning a blizzard hitting tonight.

Very respectable. He beat some big names like Aliy Zirkle, Lance Mackey (4-time winner), and Martin Buser (4-time winner)
