Outdoors with cover. I believe the cover is what caused my rust issues by trapping moisture

The natural gas Genesis Silver B I bought in 2003 still works great and is still in great shape. I think the problem is Weber has so cheapened so many of their products that the newer ones simply don’t have the longevity of the older ones. My old 5 pound propane lit charcoal Performer grill has been equally perfect for the last 16 years. Both have always been covered when not in use.

Another vote for the Charbroil True Infrared. An excellent grill. If you are upset your Weber fell apart in 7 years, you’ll really be sorry when your non-Weber falls apart in 3-4 years... Have you looked at the Weber Q series grills? They are REALLY underrated and REALLY good grills! I have the Weber Q320 and it’s built like a tank. Was given to me used around 10 years old and I refurbed it with a good cleaning, removed and cleaned/drilled out the burner tube holes, put new grates in and a new regulator hose and it will easily go another 10 years. It’s made of cast aluminum so there’s nothing to rust out. It looks smallish compared to some of the traditional grills but it’s still got lots of room and I can sear steaks on this thing like you wouldn’t believe! I love the very thick, heavy cast iron grates on this thing. Looks like your typical Spirit 3 burner gives you 424 sq inches of cooking area, the Q3200 gives you 393 sq inches of cooking area. The current model is the Q3200: https://www.weber.com/US/en/gr...series/57060001.html

We have a Char Broil sitting out on our deck for at least 10 years now. It's the infared series. Bought it at Home Depot for around $400. It's been a great grill. No rust yet but our deck is covered. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

For the last 30 years I've used a Wilmington Gas Grill. All components are now stainless steel. Initially burners were cast iron and eventually had to be replaced with cast stainless under warranty. That was only repair. https://www.wilmingtongrill.com/ "The world is too dangerous to live in-not because of the people who do evil, but because of the people who sit and let it happen." Seven years on the back deck in all kinds of weather? Doesn't seem unexpected to me. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

I have a weber genesis silver - purchased in 2001 (no cabinet - just the regular stand). It was covered the first few years of it's life. The cover failed and I never replaced it. It stayed cleaner without the cover on it - regardless - other than replacing the burners 1 and the flavor bars 1x (I had a set of stainless ones bent up by a metal shop) the rest of the grill is holding up ridiculously well. It gets used (on average) at least 1x per week. I reject your reality and substitute my own. --Adam Savage, MythBusters

I had a Q but absolutely hated the cast iron grates. I cannot keep up with maintaining them and they rust like no other. I will never get anything other than stainless grates.
