Deepest condolences my friend. It is never easy. All dogs are good, but some are great. Those....the great ones, and we're lucky if we get 1-2 in our lifetimes.....will wait for you in the clearing at the end of the path.

I agree with Marzy 100%…our dogs as well as the other creatures who share our lives are deserving of our love and respect…I adopted an Australian Cattle Dog three years ago and she has been such an important part of my life…I can’t imagine life without her…you are in my thoughts and prayers over your loss of a family member

Man, losing a pet is never easy, especially when they're more like family than just a pet. Harley sounds like he was a real character. It's rough when things go south out of the blue like that, especially after having him for so long. Just take your time to mourn and cherish all those awesome memories you two made together.
