The fourplex Apt. has a front load wash machine,

they charge $3.75 to wash and dry.

The repairman was there and had to put a new pump in the 15 month old machine.

he found 5) curtain hooks, 13) pennies , a dime, a male phono plug and a washer, in the destroyed filter.

it was going to be $360.00 for the parts and labor Eek

I am pretty glad that I do not use the machines that they provide ( no blame for me)

Yeah, I've forgotten to empty my pockets a few times but on the plus side my coins are shinier!

Our old GE dryer was making a horrible squeaking noise. After a quick learning session on disassembly and figuring I was going to need either a new belt or bearing, took the machine apart. Then I discovered the roofing nail lodged between the frame and drum. I tried to blame my wife, that didn't work.Smile

But then how would I keep the key to my motorcycle so clean.

Use the silverware tray in the dishwasher. Also good for small gun parts.

My Italian clean freak of a better half would draw and quarter me, and / or pull a Lorena Bobbitt while I slept if I put gun parts in the dishwasher.

Cant say I am very impressed with these new machines. I have a 34 year old Kenmore top loader and when I left a steel center punch in my shirt pocket all it did was rattle around in the drum. Was upstairs and it took me a while to figure out where that rattle was coming from, thought I lost a bearing in the furnace fan. Finally got near the washer and heard the rattle so shut the machine off, fished out the center punch, and restarted it. Runs just fine and didn't even scratch the drum.

PS: another advantage to these antiques is that they are all relay controlled so any repair needed is just a matter of picking up whatever is needed, no trying to track down a circuit card that was only used for 3 months of production for a particular machine.

I've stopped counting.

I'll be darned. And all along I thought the small watch pocket on my blue jeans was to hold my foam ear plugs for cleaning.

I always check my pockets twice. Once when I put my jeans into the hamper, and again when I put ‘em into the washer. An overlooked Kleenex makes for such a mess.

Is the significant other ok with that? Boresnakes clean up well in the washer as long as they are in a lingerie bag. If not they tend to become wrapped around the impeller. The washer has a unique smell afterwards.

It's clearly too hard. My almost 18 year old daughter has ruined multiple loads of clothes by leaving chap stick in her pocket time and again.

I never had to worry about that laundry issue. Exwife always went thru my pockets.

Pretty hard for me. I always have stuff come out of my pocket and go into the washer (or dryer). Usually golf tees but wallets really suck.

It's an easy way to clean your spare and ammo!

It is astonishing what men leave in their pockets. Cash, old grand dad’s pocket watch, cigarette lighters, pocket knives, lip stick cases, cocktail napkins with phone numbers, business cards, jewelry, more besides.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

yeah, not the best way to wash your spare mag and ammo. It dried up nicely in the dryer though. Thats when I heard a couple rounds that came out of the mag rattling around.
I ended up shooting all of them at the range, every one of them went bang, which is nice.

My agency bought us all fancy shirts with pen pockets on the sleeves. It took one load of blue-stained clothes for me to decide that the convenience of the pen pockets wasn't worth the potential hassle.

Chewing tobacco makes an even bigger mess.
