We like to camp a lot and it would make it easier for me with work if I could reliably use a Starlink Mini. Where we usually go, I would be able to find a clear shot at the sky so I’m not worried about that, I’m just wondering if you can reliably have enough speed for video conferencing?

If I turn of my personal camera and adjust the settings to just see the person talking, would that make an substantial improvements?

For reference, if I do this, I will be at 6900' for my next scheduled meeting. Does that mean anything substantive as well?

I have the Mini and while I have not done a video call on it, the speeds for it will absolutely suitable for video chats, especially if you disable your camera.

My sister's Starlink Mini was a godsend while I was stuck (if you want to call it that...) in Ireland after bypass surgery. Almost daily video calls to friends and family, don't recall any lag or slowdowns in speed.

It is plenty capable of video conferencing at peak & 'average' speeds. Coverage is more important that the hardware. Make sure where you will be has coverage ALL the time. I know when starlink was starting, there were gaps for minutes/hours in certain areas. I'm sure they've filled most of those gaps, but rural areas are the last to get done.
