I believe in the principle of Due Process |
Here is an idea for the President. It is hard to get these CIA, FBI and DOJ, Congressional investigators, foreign agents, assorted lawyers, etc to testify truthfully about what they have done. They claim 5th Amendment protection. Omerta! So, you give them a pardon. Once they accept the pardon, they have no fear of prosecution, hence no 5th Amendment claim. Now they must testify, if asked, truthfully, fully. If they do, the whole sordid story is public. The American people know! If not, you charge them with perjury. Pardons are only for crimes in the past, not a King’s X for future lawlessness. So, put the word processors on “Stun” and start cranking out pardons. What would Hillary say if she were to be pardoned? Why not Chuck Schumer? Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Liars lie, and these people to whom you refer think themselves untouchable (not sure I would disagree). Short of a long federal prison sentence, which none of them will ever get, you'll never get a word of honesty from any of them. In Roman times, when a country was conquered, all of its senators were rounded up and summarily killed. I'm starting to think they had it right way back then. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

After further review, I realize one could accomplish this by giving immunity from prosecution, which can be handled without involving the President, and is conditional, usually. No talk, no walk. We are dealing with ego's of men/women who have lost every direction of the meaning "right" and "wrong". They are drunk with power and Trump represents a threat to their power. It's an embarrassment to the country.

Political Cynic |
I think a better idea is for him to appoint a special counsel with the sole job of turning up every piece of dirt on the former administration and its cohorts, go after the Clinton's and their 'foundation' and finally, go after the media with the same zeal the media goes after Trump... that would be fun to watch - probably won't happen in my lifetime because I doubt you could find anyone willing to prosecute a traitor [B] Against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC

That, and they are pathological liars. Incapable of telling the truth.
