Police: Georgia woman borrowed badge, gun to get free snacks
Wow did not know LEOs get free snacks at Quicktrip. Unbelievable what people will do.

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia probation officer has resigned and her friend has been arrested for borrowing that officer’s badge and gun to get free snacks at a QuikTrip.

WSB-TV reports 33-year-old Pektra LaQuiche Edgerton was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer.

Gwinnett County Police Officer J.T. Smith says he saw Edgerton inside the QuikTrip with a badge and gun requesting free snacks and her actions seemed suspicious.

Smith's body cam footage shows he pulled Edgerton over and she was still wearing the badge. The footage shows Edgerton admitting that her passenger, Brandi Green, was an officer with the Department of Community Supervision, who let her borrow the gun and badge.

The department says Green was suspended but later resigned.

The outlet says Edgerton hasn't responded to comment request as of Thursday.

It looks like the Race card did not work as per body cam video.

A lot of Rob-N-Go type establishments will do this. It's cheap insurance.

Departments usually have policies against taking free stuff, but whether it's enforced for a buck-fifty cup of coffee is a different matter.

Also, the part about letting your friend borrow a gun to commit a fraud: Why break into an FBI agent's car when you can just borrow a gun from a law enforcement officer when you need to commit a crime? Was she going to rob the place if the badge didn't work?

I did not partake (unless it was a cupcake) but it is common practice to offer cops free coffee or a sandwich in order to encourage them to stop at the business. And even if they wanted to give me something, I always bought something.
One of my all night convenience stores even put up a table and chair for me to do paperwork on.
And one of my nursing homes did the table and chair thing too.

I don't have a problem with giving snacks to LEOs. I like to have them hanging around my business too. They often sit in my parking lot under a shade tree and write reports. It is cheap insurance and a way of giving back.

No one yet has mentioned how she immediately played the race card when stopped. Unbelievable.

Notice how she uses pseudo intellect to reason with the officer. When that doesn't work she pulls the race card.

Pektra LaQuiche. Sounds like something you’d name a female hygiene product. Big Grin

Her mother set her up for a lifetime of success, I’m sure.

That video is "fulfilling the stereotype" city. Jesus, lady. Yes, it's personal, and it's because you're black. Had nothing at all to do with your busted brake light and impersonating an officer to get your free shit. It's because you're black. Roll Eyes

Yep, when I worked gas stations in hard times, I gave LEO's free coffee and bought their snacks. I wanted them to be there, and as often as was reasonable. The last one I worked at got robbed at gunpoint on my former shift just after I left.

Dem free snacks gonna end up costing those two real money.

And the DCS might want to do a training retreat to go over:

"Community supervision" = Probation.

They're state Probation Officers.

I could only watch the video half-way; my iq points started draining.

How hard up do you have to be to have to borrow a badge and gun just for free snacks? And what a lazy ass of a friend to loan her the badge and gun rather than getting the free snacks herself.

"Listen, I got my partner out in the car, can I grab a snack for her, too?"

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I think it is safe to assume that the DCS moron got her free shit first, the loaned her badge and gun to her friend. That is how hard up.
