Step by step walk the thousand mile road |
Hanford Area 200 (the most likely place for this to have occurred) is at 46°32'56.22"N 119°31'20.43"W.
I've worked on environmental restoration projects at Hanford. What people forget is that the long-life radioactive component of the problem (e.g., 239Pu) has exactly three solutions to render it safe:
I hope everyone is safe and the radioactive material is contained. BTW: If you ever go there they have warning sirens for these types of emergency events. The only one you need to know is "RUN LIKE HELL" as all the rest involve shelter in place. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." No wonder I've been feeling a little goofy today. Maybe I can save on the electric bill if I'm glowing for awhile. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I'm guessing RUN LIKE HELL is probably pointless given the panic running speed and distance the average person can cover before dropping... I read about this and the article said the buried the train cars and radioactive waste in the tunnels. Seems that got a head start on that part of the process. I also looked over the place on Google Earth and damn if I can find any tunnels. Looks flatter than Twiggie's chest out there. Does that mean its beyond the 'fridge? We mostly don't know the ages of our posters. But I can tell the guy who posted " Looks flatter than Twiggie's chest out there." is old like many of us. Its something we can remember, but not enjoy remembering. Unhappy ammo seeker

Damn right I am! Sadly, I think I can see the end of the road from here. RMD TL Davis: “The Second Amendment is special, not because it protects guns, but because its violation signals a government with the intention to oppress its people…” Remember: After the first one, the rest are free.
