tleddyUN votes against USA in favor of Cuba… again!!
https://www.usnews.com/news/wo...ns-spill-into-publicPlease explain why we support a disproportionate cost of the UN when they commonly crap all over us?
They routinely bite the hand that feeds it! The percentage of top few countries:
Rank Country Paid, 2023–2025 Share of UN spending
1 United States $34.5 billion about 17%
2 Germany $13.6 billion about 7%
3 United Kingdom $7.9 billion about 4%
4 China $7.5 billion about 4%
5 Japan $6.9 billion about3.5%
6 Canada $5.0 billion about2.5%
There are 193 member countries… all they want is our money. I admit it is a drop in the bucket compared to our budget, but we should get some value rather than condemnation.
Arguments welcome…

nhracecraftThat's a shame...Too bad we don't care what the UN thinks! We should reduce our share of UN spending by about $20 Billion. Just because...

tatortoddIn grand US diplomatic tradition, asshole countries voting against us in the UN still receive aid from us.
According to Gemini, this is just the top 7 major foreign aid recipients (i.e. the list is even longer) and 9 supposed allies that voted in favor of condemning the US for our on-going embargo on Cuba (i.e. Voted against the U.S. position):
Jordan: The 3rd largest recipient of U.S. aid globally (~$1.6 Billion).
Ethiopia: Received roughly $920 Million in humanitarian and development aid.
Democratic Republic of the Congo: Received roughly $750 Million.
Nigeria: Received roughly $730 Million.
Sudan & South Sudan: Collectively received over $1 Billion in humanitarian aid.
Kenya: Received roughly $655 Million.
Somalia: Received roughly $498 Million.
Mexico: $115 Million to $135 Million annually
India: $45 Million to $55 Million annually
Turkey: $3 Million to $5 Million annually. Our supposed NATO ally though.
Brazil: $2 Million to $3 Million annually. Not much aid, but they're fucking the American consumer with their 43% ownership/stranglehold of US beef processing, and they account for 23% to 43% of beef imports.
$0 to our supposed NATO allies Canada, UK, France, Spain, Belgium.
I wouldn't shed a tear if the foreign aid to these ingrates dried up tomorrow, and the Brazilian beef processing ownership came under anti-trust review next week.
Much like the OP's list for UN funding, here is the Gemini's list for NATO funding (i.e. another worthless organization not benefiting US):
NATO Member Country | Total Annual National Defense Expenditure (Estimated USD) | Actual Percentage of Total NATO Military Spending (%)
United States $980.0 Billion 66.311%

France $65.0 Billion 4.398%
Poland $35.0 Billion 2.368%
Italy $32.0 Billion 2.165%
Canada. $30.5 Billion. 2.064%
Netherlands $23.5 Billion 1.590%
Spain. $21.8 Billion 1.475%
Turkey (Türkiye) $16.0 Billion 1.083%
Norway $14.5 Billion 0.981%
Sweden $12.5 Billion 0.846%
Romania $8.5 Billion 0.575%
Denmark $8.2 Billion 0.555%
Greece $8.0 Billion 0.541%
Finland $7.3 Billion 0.494%
Belgium. $7.2 Billion. 0.487%
Czechia $5.1 Billion 0.345%
Hungary $4.8 Billion 0.325%
Portugal $4.2 Billion 0.284%

Luxembourg $700 Million 0.047%
Albania $400 Million 0.027%
North Macedonia $350 Million 0.024%
Montenegro $140 Million 0.009%
Iceland (no military) $0 0.000%

KMitch200So the general consensus is the USA provides OUR tax dollars to ungrateful, obnoxious fucking assholes who only want MORE of our tax dollars.
Sounds like the same system that has been in place for fucking decades. Because the American taxpayer *NEVER* runs out of money.
IT’S TIME TO END THIS BULLSHIT grift!!

braillediverMove the UN to Cuba. The Real Estate's cheaper and they can support the people they cherish so much.

rock185That's about right jehzsa. I know that the attitude of UN members is unlikely to change for the better where the USA is concerned. I do wish though, that the whole UN operation could be moved off US soil...

nhtagmemberI think we need to reduce our UN due to match what Canada pays. Also zero out all foreign aid for the next 6 years.
