I've owned and driven too many older cars in my life that I have a long-establised habit of shutting everything down when parking. You didn't want any extra load of any kind on an older electrical system when you started up. It's a habit I still maintain. My wife, however, leaves it all on, and she like full blast on everything. Fortunately, I rarely drive her car.
