This morning, I got into the Twitter and alt-YouTube news cycle about that animal who stabbed the Ukrainian woman to death and that whole thing and all I could think of was the scene from The Green Mile where John Coffey says "I'm tired, Boss" because it was precisely how it made me feel. Just... somewhere this side of overwhelmed at the state of political and racial violence accepted and encouraged in this country against white conservatives, or at least, white people anywhere right of socialist.
Now this. I'm not sure how I feel. They don't want to talk because they can't win on ideas. They don't want to debate because what they're fervently convinced of dissipates in the light of logical scrutiny. So they shoot the guy who's running for President and they shoot the guy who's going to college campuses to actually have discussions and change minds.
I'm not sure there's much left to say to these people anymore. Conversation has broken down. You can't keep doing stuff like this and expect people to simply be silent and lie down and accept that if you say things they don't like that they'll try to kill you without there eventually being a reaction.
