bruthajessMicro Conversion Kits (MCK) - Anyone using them?
I've been looking at the micro conversion kits that are offered by CAA for a while now. They seem like pretty cool little units to add some stability and get more accurate shots at longer distances, especially if you are mounting any type of optic. Just wanted to see if anyone here has any real life experience with them. If so, tell me know what you think (both good and bad) and have you run into any issues with them over time? Thanks!

Expert308I've got one sitting in my closet. I bought it for my G21, which for unrelated reasons I subsequently sold. The MCK worked really well. The brace is long enough that I could shoulder it, and with a RDS on top I was able nail 8" plates rapid fire at something like 20 yards. And I don't shoot a handgun for shit. IMO something like it would make a dandy HD weapon (with a well zeroed laser you could even hip shoot it), and it was a lot of fun to just play with.
I had visions of using a suppressor with it, but mine is a 1st generation one and as it turns out was not designed for suppressed use. It COULD theoretically be done I think, but you would have to hog out enough material from the front of it to accommodate the can that you'd have entirely too much risk of getting your support hand in front of the muzzle if the can isn't there. I understand the 2nd generation has fixed that problem and can be used with a suppressor.
Without the G21 I have no use for it. I'd probably give it to you gratis if you want it, email me if you're interested.
