Congratulations to my Alma mater, Indiana University, on their national championship and a perfect 16-0 season.

From literally “worst” to first.

I don’t think there is a single IU alumnus (myself included) that believed this feat was possible two years ago. We’ve been worn down by more than a century of losing, with only sporadic victory. When Cignetti arrived I thought his mouth was writing checks that this university couldn’t cash.

Cignetti proved us all wrong, in the most amazing, sustained fashion.

The Hoosiers are national champions in college football. The very idea is the definition of “incredible.”

But boy does it sound good this morning!

Both defenses were really good, IU was a pinch better in the clutch. Congrats to your team

One year of time at IU is all I can claim and living north of Indianapolis is a true joy this morning. Way to go Hoosiers!

The impeding to action advances action.

What stands in the way becomes the way.”

My entire life, the voice of the Indiana Hoosiers has been Don Fischer, our radio play-by-play man. He’s been on the job for 53 years. I mute the TV and listen to Don via an app on my phone.

I’m so happy for Don. He’s witnessed SO much horrible football and now he’s called a perfect IU basketball season (1976) and a perfect football season. I can’t think of a better time for him to retire…he’s 79 years old. Although I’ll miss his calls, he can go out while IU is on top.

I don't really watch football, but we stayed up for that one last night. Great game, and you could tell both teams really wanted it. Congrats to IU on a great season!

Congrats to the Hoosiers! What an amazing turnaround in 2-years, and capped off with a perfect season.

As a Purdue fan, I never thought I'd find myself rooting for the Hoosiers, but there I was rooting for them vs Alabama, Oregon, and Miami.

They are now the 11th university with national championships in both football and basketball.

Tator, believe me, I know how unusual it is for PU/IU grads to root for “those other guys.” I thank you for your sportsmanship, sincerely. I will return the favor during the NCAA basketball tournament… IU doesn’t look like it will be a participant this year… sadly.

The usual suspects noted IU didn't have much blue chip talent compared to the regular college powerhouses. Now I'll guess recruiting, transfer and the like will bring some gamechangers. Welcome to the world of expectations, Hoosiers.

Cignetti and his staff have been killing it with the transfer portal. A lot of the starters came with him from JMU, and his starting QB the last 2 years (i.e. this year's Heisman winner) have been transfer portal starting QBs with their final year of NCAA eligibility.

BTW, they're reloading via the transfer portal too. For example, earlier this month TCU's QB, Josh Hoover, who has 9600 career passing yards and 71 career passing TDs.

Congrats to the Hoosiers!

At least it wasn't Alabama in the CFP. Big Grin (I'm an alum of the other university within the state).

That was quite the (illegal and not called and the coach pointed it out later) hard late hit on the Indiana QB, guy was bleeding all over from his mouth/chin area.

Congrats to IU!

My Ducks lost their only two games all season to Indiana.

To hit a perfect record is amazing and shows the depth of the team and staff.

Screw Crystobal and his band of thugs.

Cheers~

Dude took a beating but he stayed in the game. He took a couple of nasty (legal) hits during that sneak touchdown, too. He showed off a giant bruise on his right forearm during the on-field interview right after the game. He played his heart out and deserved the win.

My family has pretty deep ties to Michigan State but last night I was an IU fanboy. I raise my glass in a toast to IU and all their fans.

Congrats to Indiana!

And.......this morning little brother Alberto Mendoza is in the portal, that didn't take long. IU took a QB in the portal, Hoover from TCU, but he only has 1 year of eligibility. I was hoping little brother Mendoza would stick around, he will just be a sophomore next year. I don't know what team is going to give him guaranteed start time.
