I went to my last gunshow for 2023 today! The only firearm I’ve bought this year was my SIG P322 pistol … there just isn’t anything that interests me at the shows anymore, most every table is some sort of AR but I still like to go as I have know most of the smaller dealers and usually run into friends. I’m also getting long in the tooth and trying to thin the herd so the wife or kids don’t have to deal with it … none are gun-nuts anyway. So while perusing the inventory I came across a dealer with a Crossman 130 pellet pistol in 22 caliber. I was 10 or so when I had a 130 in .177. It stirred up fond memories and for $85 with a new set of seals I couldn’t pass it by. I also came across a locally made stripped AR receiver with the 2nd Amendment on the right side of the magwell and for $55 I picked it up even though I’ll probably never put it together … I have a small collection of stripped receivers I thought were interesting for one reason or another. Lastly I came across a used shoulder holster that will probably fit my 2” Kimber K6S it says it’s for a S&W and for $5 I figured it was worth a try. I have a Versa IWB I’m okay with but I like having options. If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

Very nice. My final buy of the year was today, a 1981 Ruger Police Service Six .357 I've picked up a few other Ruger Six series revolvers this year but this is my first Police Service Six. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

My last personal firearm purchase for the year was yesterday. Won an auction for a Springfield TRP with a full rail. Ouch. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

That gun is very nice. Was that the predecessor to the Ruger Security Six ? Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

^ Fixed-sight version of the Security-Six. The __-Six was the predecessor of the GP-100,

First year since 1999 I did not buy a gun. Not horny for them like I used to be. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

CZ Scorpion 3+ for me, just before Christmas. It will be my Steel Challenge PCC for 2024. Only one gun on my DO WANT list. Maybe this will be the year for it.

No, they are part of the same series of guns (the Six Series). This is a fixed rear sight version while the Security Six had an adjustible rear sight. There were 3 "six" series double action revolvers. Did you get the carbine version or the pistol? I am interested in the carbine version and had the Evo S1 and it ran like a top. It might be a 2024 gun.

Thank you Very little |
Picked up A KelTec Sub2000, for some strange reason I wanted one, Then again, any KelTec you want is generally for a strange reason considering the odd things they make. Sub2000 though does have a good place as a folding carbine, even S&W copied the idea so it must be good, but I have plenty of Glock mags and the Smith, while a better design as a side folder, uses their mags only and is more $$ for the gun and more money for the mags.

Character, above all else |
I went through the same process yesterday at the Fort Worth gun show, but nobody had the new Gen 3 available to finger-fiddle with. I want to see how the barrel rotation works before purchasing. "The Truth, when first uttered, is always considered heresy."

I did get the 16” carbine version, with the fake suppressor on the end of the barrel. With the CZ rebate, it came in at $749. Sighted in the red dot yesterday; needs a better trigger. But it is a very nice PCC.

And now we all get to try and buy something soon. We haven't bought a gun all year!! ------------------ The plural of anecdote is not data. -Frank Kotsonis
