Canyon Lake High is in the Hill Country about half way between San Antonio and Austin. Good job by the coach and the band director here. ______________________________ “I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living.” ― John Wayne

There are a bunch of bitter clingers up there around the lake, and quite a few in the area, for that matter. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Get busy living or get busy dying! |
I was at a shooting tournament in San Antonio TX this past weekend. Every morning at 8:45 the national Anthem is announced and played over the PA system. Everyone stops and gives the reverence the Anthem deserves. First timers learn quickly.

I play in a lot of pickleball tournaments (three next month) and the national anthem is played and/or sung at every one each day of the tournament. "Cedat Fortuna Peritis"
