What’s the real world out the door on all those trucks ? My TV is always blasting local dealers advertising 7-10k off MSRP. I bet there’s a lot more downward room.

Downside, technology costs money, for sure. You don't really drive the newest vehicles available now, you sit in them.

Upside, I do appreciate the rear and/or front cameras on our two vehicles.

If people would mind their own damn business this country would be better off. I owe no one an explanation or an apology for my personal opinion.

I drove 300 miles yesterday to buy a new Ford F150. Couldn't come to terms with the dealer so I turned around and drove my 2013 Ford F150 XLT 2WD with 64,000 miles back home. Was looking at a new 2018 F150 XLT 4WD with just about the identical features of my truck except with 4WD. We were $3500 apart and so I left to go get some dinner and head home. Don't really need a new truck, but I've been wanting to upgrade to 4WD for a while. They really were low on my trade that they admitted looked like new inside and were 1500 above what they have the truck advertised for. Kind of annoying that they advertise a price based on incentives that may or may not apply to you or your location. Oh well, my search continues.

I've also been looking for a rear wheel drive sports car, so I've been doing plenty of shopping and looking and agree that the prices these days are fairly breath taking.

The truck I was looking at stickered at about 51K and they were advertising it for 39K. Turns out though he really wanted 40.5K. So 10-12 off sticker is in the ballpark.

It won't be pretty, but it will get him though college as long as he doesn't wreck it beyond repair.

It's amazing to me how little it takes to "total" a car these days.
I recently bought a 2008 Toyota 4Runner from an insurance auction... but that's probably another thread. I don't want to go too far afield of the OP's topic!

OK... edited to add my new thread:

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Why bother driving these? Do it over the phone. Don't actually go there until you have the contract finalized and at least written up (if not actually signed.)

I highly recommend CarGurus.com for finding pricing of what dealerships are listing national wide. I was able to get my dealers down from 43115 down to 37900 using CarGurus on my Ridgeline 2019 RTL-E

BBMW: I drove there because I had a trade and didn't think they would give me an accurate price for it without seeing it. Had I been buying without a trade I could probably do the deal over the phone or internet. I also wanted to drive the exact truck I would have been buying before actually making an offer.

Its not like dealers don't ever quote something over the phone to get you to come in and then change the deal when you actually show up. Probably should have driven a similar truck locally, but I wouldn't have bought it without driving it first anyway.
