CitadelInk pen, Dryer question
So I did my camo uniforms from work in the wash. Seems I left a couple of pens in the one sleeve. One held up, the other one disassembled itself in the dryer and created modern art. Any ideas on how to clean the drum before getting killed by SWMBO.

shovelheadTry rubbing alcohol first? Second, Goof-Off?
Make sure any pilot lights are off if nearby though.

thezoltarMost modern pen inks are alcohol based. It will also take the ink out of fabric after a few blotting actions.

Rey HRHTry Tide sticks. But don't wait for a long time.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." vthokyI've used alcohol to try cleaning the dryer drum before. It worked... a little.
DO be careful to air out the dryer REALLY well before using it again. Alcohol fumes... electricity... sparks... yikes.

Gene HillmanLacquer thinner may work. Is the drier drum stainless? Acetone is another possibility. Again, air out well if you use either of these. A non flammable product that probably will work is a yellow liquid in a pump bottle sometimes called De-Solv-It. If you use anything flammable it would be a good idea to leave the drier door open and set a box fan 10 feet out the door and turn it on for a while.

henryaz Try denatured alcohol first, then acetone next. Make sure there's plenty of ventilation for the acetone and air it out well afterwards.

6gunsI had this happen once. The ink permanently dried on the drum and never got on any clothes afterwards. It's still there.

BeanheadThey make a product for this. My wife said it is called Carbona Ink. But that is for the wash..once it is dried, you are f#%{Ed.
She said hair spray works too. If not, put a match in front of the spray.

deepoceanIs your drum stainless? If stainless, I would think you could be more aggressive. If not, test a small spot first to be sure.

I've used both Lacquer thinner and acetone,
with some elbow grease, (and a mask, stuff is strong) to get ink out,
relatively quick and easy,
ran it on air dry for 10 minutes or so,
(no heat) to get the fumes out
