We'll need to make some adjustments in the forum with regard to politcs. Many members, including myself, have no interest in listening to others rage impotently over the clowns now in charge.

There is a misconception regarding my lack of posts in the forum after the election. Some members were certain I was absent. The only way I would leave this forum unattended is if I was incapacitated. I ceased posting because of the utter absurdity of the situation- the manipulation and and gaming of the system; the ridiculous way people were acting- on both sides; the nonstop rhetoric- from both sides- with nothing behind it but more rhetoric.

The situation was absurd, and there was nothing to be said about it, and there were plenty of members already saying the nothing to be said. You heard no inaccurate predictions from me, no bluster, no solemn vows of whatever. It would have been pointless to do so. What possible good could come from one more angry voter stomping around this place?

For five and a half years, I have supported Donald Trump and the ungrateful Republican party. However, the corruption in American politics has consumed these processes to the point that all that left is the corruption. Just like most of you, I have voted dutifully, but the schemers have invalidated our vote.

I'll no longer be part of any of it. Within this forum or without, doesn't matter- you will not find me discussing politics with anyone. It's absurd and futile and I am done. I am taking back my life. These people can't have me any more. I am not dancing on their string, not listening to their lies and empty promises. The crooks can just continue to be crooked, the liars can keep lying. Drain the treasury, continue destroying the nation. I did what I could and it proved inadequate, and the system is now so rigged the only thing left is the rigging, so, I am done. If I were a younger man by a decade or more, I might be willing to continue to be involved, but, life is too short to struggle with the insane. Regarding my participation in political discussion- both in this forum and outside of it- this is a permanent state of affairs. I could not be more serious. I am done, for good and all.

Now, since it's my obligation to moderate political discussion, we have something of a dilemma. I don't want to even look at those threads, and now that we'll have outrageous leftist shit coming out of the White House every day, some of you will want to rail against it. That's going to prove to be a problem, because I don't want to hear anything about or from Biden and his disgracful VP. I'm not going to spend much time sorting out bickering about the lunatics now in charge. Those of you who are inclined to create political threads need to keep this in mind. Refrain from spreading that political crap in this forum.

Para, I'm with you on this. I'm nearly 72 years old and not in a mood or position to rage impotently about politics. There are other forums for that, if one is so inclined.

Thanks, you expressed exactly how I feel too. The whole system is basically corrupt from top to bottom, the people in charge don't care as long as they profit and I'm not going to let it stress me out anymore. I'm not listening to the lies anymore from any media outlet or any politician. I'm just going try and get through life the best I can.

While I have not been as disciplined as you, we are on the same page. Since I came to understand the depth of corruption and the breadth of complicity, I have seen the futility of my engagement. I have weened myself of political activity and am focused on my nuclear family. Good to read your posts again. I missed them.

Wow. It's good to see that others are feeling this way. I am totally disgusted and I'm disconnecting from local/national news and don't want to hear or think about it. It's nice not to see politics in every non-political thread when I'm here. It's also good that there are political threads, but I normally just ignore them. Thank you, Para.

All of the above posts express how I feel. I'm almost 66 and I don't need to waste my time and damage my health any further with this crap.
I am going to focus on my wife and my boxer boys and my retirement in several years.
Only local news in this household from now on.

And oh, yes, that reminds me- not only am I no longer participating in political discussions, I have ceased getting my news from any place but this forum. Since November 3, I have not watched one single second of TV news, not read any articles on any news web sites, or even visited these sites at all. When I go to youtube, I scroll down the suggested videos page with unfocused eyes so that I can avoid even reading the tag lines for political videos. There's no longer any truth in any of it, and even when there was, any such truths were scant.

I suggest you do the same.

Journalism is dead, politics is completely corrupted and the truth, when discovered, is banished. I've been on this rock too long to bother with these liars any more.

I am in full agreement. For years I have come here first to get my news. I'm not on social media. I'm old, in poor health, and my 14 year old dog is at the vets following a major surgery.
I have no power to change the politics of this nation, the world or even the city and state I live in. I am alone in this city and will keep to myself and hold on to my beliefs. Thank you, Para, for what you do and how you do it.

Not sure if it is appropriate here but I would also suggest we don't start going crazy and posting about every rumored firearm or ammunition regulation supposedly coming.
I will delete if necessary.

Thanks Para. I'm right there with you. Since the election, I have hoped things would turn around in our favor. That candle is now extinguished. I will continue to not watch any news in any form. I will reclaim my life as well.
