Not sure what the laws are in Germany but this guy definitely has issues.

Germany has become a nation of homosexual men? I donno. Maybe it’s just an isolated situation caught on video for propaganda purposes to help the AfD win even more seats or maybe they are all Peter puffers. I’m awaiting a book/short story written so eloquently by our friend from Berlin to explain this…. I would love to know the answer to the question the OP posted.

This is a long way from the ex-Luftwaffe pilot (Junker 88) that was my dad's boss in the '80's at an overseas gas refinery:

On a vacation trip back home to Germany around 1981, Klaus and his wife Gusla were in their 60's and no doubt their age was a factor in the mugger choosing them as his next victims. The incident was over very quickly as Klaus was not only still relatively fit but self-defense instruction had been standard curriculum in his school and military training. The mugger-attemptee wound up with an arm snapped at the elbow and Klaus and Gusla exited the area before the police arrived.

I've no doubt that if Gusla had been so much as touched by the jackass in the video, Klaus - no matter what his age and win, lose, or draw - would have taken corrective action. I suspect the vast majority of men in Klaus' and my father's generation - of most every nationality - would have fixed the problem instinctively and as a matter of course with no thought given to the perverted mess of societal culture and warped legal system currently in vogue.

I'm pretty sure most members recognize this as another clickbait/ragebait Tweet based upon a "what happened to men in another country that they don't act like I imagine they would in mine" fallacy. The "frown at the drunk/high/mental asshole and let authorities handle him eventually" attitude is very much traditional German social norm. You can find that unsatisfactory, but it's actually any other reaction that would point to problematic imports from more violent cultures.

20 years at SF have also taught me - and this thread demonstrates within half a dozen posts - that anyone else isn't actually interested in foreign issues, other than as ammunition for their own US political and cultural war spoonfed to them by partisan sources; and that explanations are a waste of time, because they never penetrate made-up minds that just want more outrage. But for the curious, here's an instructional video on different (greater) European conflict cultures:

If I got my flags correct, I got a kick out of the Polish and Balkan responses!

FWIW, I'll bet if the video in the OP happened almost anywhere in the US, the response would be mostly the same. There is a difference between an asshole pushing his way through a crowd, and a significant attack on someone. A minor, even a belligerent, shove is unlikely to be viewed as justification for an escalation in force by most Americans.

I honestly do think the pendulum is going to swing back hard on this crap because if you look at him, he knows full well he will be able to get away with whatever he pleases, but there will reach a breaking point someday where he’s going to find out the hard way that it’s no longer the case.

Don't ever encourage Europeans and by proxy Americans to push back hard. Because when we finally do, the results will be unimaginable. We've learned a few things since 1945...

Looks completely staged to me. The guy in the red checked shirt in between the shover and the camera looks like the director. Not on camera, but I suspect that there was another dude preceding the "asshole" who was coaching the shovees. Look how the chicks who got shoved reacted, all of them with the same WTF look on their faces and upturned hands. Also, the looped nature of the video, same scenes/shoves repeated over and over.

Call me cynical, but this is yet another YT fakery.

I knocked a guy on his ass at a Dwight Yoakam concert for pushing me. I’d still be on top of his ass if he pushed a girl.

I've long enjoyed reading your perspectives on European-in-general but particularly German events, and I'm pretty certain I'm not alone.

I don't think a general disinterest in foreign issues is unique to this forum, or to us in the USA. True, because of scale, geography-- many more locally-interconnected interests, even before the EU was a thing-- and the like, Europeans in general are more "dialed in" to geopolitics because on a certain level they HAVE to be. But even in this friendly locale I've found little interest in North American politics among my cousins except to the extent a figure or event might confirm a bias.

(Different topic for a different time, but a look at voter turnout here over the past few decades suggests that many of our citizens aren't particularly interested in DOMESTIC affairs, either, so at least there's consistency.)

Click-bait title...

This was during the day though, get into one of the beer halls or later into the evening and they'll be plenty of guys that'll answer the bell, that said, the vast majority of people are there for a good time so, they're not tuned for throwing-hands like the county or, state fair, amusement parks, stadiums...places that I've come to avoid now with so many idiots and knuckleheads all about.

The guy following him looked like he might have been trying to point him out to the Polizei. He pushed a little boy and then a guy with a manbun. The one couple and some females.

The last Polterabend (German pre wedding party) I went to a Swedish neighbor was mad because his wife would not go home and he punched her right in front of me. I thought I was going to jail that night but the 2 female Polizei beamten (officers) that showed up questioned me and others, I got my papers back and a wink to have a nice evening. It was a very short fight. Nothing wrong with the German men I know.

Some of the native German business owners and executives I've seen over the years in the private sector, none of those men looked like anyone you'd want to tangle with.

Maybe some of them in the video were transitioning and were afraid of messing up their hair.
