V-TailTraditional New Year's Day Dinner In Our House. What's Yours?
Chopped onion, carrots, sauerkraut, caraway seeds, cup of wine left over from last night, and a pork roast coated lightly with black pepper and kosher salt.
Into the crock pot and let ‘er rip. It will be ready to eat by late afternoon / early evening.
Will have mashed potatoes on the side.

DraalWe usually order Chinese. Sweet and Sour Chicken for the kids, Kung Pao Chicken for the Mrs. and Mongolian Beef for Sir Draal.
I usually do all the holiday cooking so New Year's Eve is chill time for me. Champagne, cheese and crackers round out the night.
On New Year's day, it's leftovers for lunch and maybe a home made pizza for dinner.

NavyGuyIn our house New Year's day signals the end of the hectic holiday season. Our family (kids, grand kids etc) stay home and do their own thing. Wife and I enjoy the piece and quite with a leisurely brunch around 9 - 10 am. Eggs and what not then dinner planned for 6:30. This year a mixed green salad, a small prime rib, asparagus and twice baked potatoes. Might have some cheese and crackers mid afternoon.
Happy New Year everyone.

UnishotSeafood feast.
This year it's grilled cold water lobsters, Parmesan crusted bacon and butter scallop casserole, stuffed clams, Cajun gumbo, Old Bay steamed jumbo gulf shrimp and Alaskan king crab. Side of bacon black eyed peas, next to a reverse seared seasoned filet mingon. Dessert is Home made from scratch cheese cake with a cinnamon graham cracker crust, covered in whipped cream drizzled with caramel and chocolate. Food-induced coma to immediately follow.

PASigPork & Kraut, it’s a Pennsylvania thing.
More specifically Bavarian style sauerkraut with bacon, onion and apples and buried in that in the crockpot is sliced smoked sausage and chunks of pork shoulder. We’ll eat tonight with boiled potatoes and salad.
