Last time I checked the AG could not legislate, therefore any "policy" by the AG is called the current "law of the land". Weed is still a Schedule 1 drug.

Now, Mr Gardner may want to read the Cole Memo and grasp the fact that it really did nothing other than give the local USAAG's the ability to act as they saw fit......exactly what Sessions said.

And if I am not mistaken, Congress still has the power to enact laws.

Gardner has been in elective office long enough to understand that political commitments are about the least binding and least enforcible in our culture.

I suppose the equivalent would be an understanding required by a Senator in evaluating a judicial nominee. Nominees may not ethically bind themselves, nor opine on issues likely to come before them. It is ethically border line at the least to demand such specific commitments in exchange for support in the confirmation process.

Anyway, playing such games with reshaping the judiciary so the stoners can puff in peace is probably a poor bargain.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Bigger, better, question. How much money has the pot industry in Colorado put in his bank acct(s)? This guy's a nitwit who's been on the wrong side of way too many issues over the past year.

Again, Sessions simply went back to a measure of adherence to Federal law, unlike the Barry O administration. If you want to bitch and moan at someone, aim it to the Congress who could fix this issue once and for all if they weren't so cowardly/incompetent.

That might be all well and good, but I thought we'd all agreed that the president doesn't write legislation, nor should be attempt to circumvent it. Trump's opinion, not unlike Sessions, is irrelevant so long as federal law stands the way it does today.

That's nothing but horse shit being spewed by Gardner. The morons in Colorado who opened these businesses in direct violation of established Federal law have no one to blame but themselves for being caught in the middle on this. Barry the Wonder Putz's pen did now translate into 'any' change to federal law, and the pot businesses in Colorado should have known this could bite them in the ass at any time.
