Got the new cylinder and installed it. while not a breeze mangaged to get it and all seems good. No leaks. I was a bit surprised when I got it said "made in Spain" wtf. Well I can let that one go. Went to hook up my Landpride 5' rotary mower and the three point hitch hydraulics don't work, really wtf now. Called the guy I bought it from. Went through pretty much every thing I checked already. Nothing. The lever to raise and lower the hitch feels what I would call disconnected. I did check the know that controls the decent of the drop. It is open. Hydraulic fluid is fine. Front end loader works fine. The guy sent me a tractor with a leaking hyd cylinder. It was pretty obvious. Turned out to be a bent ram. Scored the cap so the cylinder had to be replaced at the tune of $1300 and I did the labor. Now I am thinking he did not check the rear hyd. and I might have something broke in the transmission. It has not been a great experience at this point. If I was not 1700 miles away he would get this thing back. The tractor runs great. But this sucks big time. I really do not need these headaches. This purchase had gotten really expensive and I don't have a functioning tractor, doh. Sorry, just venting. If I have missed anything to try please let me know. Thanks guys. I know nothing of Kubota tractors. But is there a hydraulic disconnect? My deere has a switch that shuts it off. Other than that is there a separate filter? Again my deere has a specific filter for the rear of the tractor and says if its not clean no rear flow. Lastly did you get all the air out of the system post changing the cylinder? On this every tractor is different, but see if you can bleed from the correct points since the pump is working as the loader is working. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

What is the model of the tractor and what cylinder did you replace? Did the three point work before you put in the new cylinder? Is it standard shift or hydrostatic? How many hours on the tractor?

It is a mid 2000's (06 or 07') I believe. L5030 4wd. HST approx 1600 hrs. The Cylinder was one on the loader. I was told you do not have to bleed the hyd. after replacing the cylinder as it has a vent on the filler cap. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Perhaps acquiring a maintenance manual for the thing might be in order? Maybe they make them available on-line? A quick search suggests there are several Kubota forums, as well. My favorite Kubota forum If you haven't already, run the loader functions (up/down/curl) several times and turn the power steering lock-to-lock several times. You might burp some air out of the system. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

You have received some good, solid advice so far. If you are certain that there is no air in the entire system and have done everything suggested to burp the system then your options are shrinking pretty fast. You say the three point lever feels disconnected. Have you verified that the lever is in fact engaging the transmission? You may have to remove a panel behind the seat to get a good look at it. There again, every tractor is different. The last thing I can think of would be have you contacted a local Kubota dealer? It might even be worth your while to haul it down there for them to look at. They should at least be able to tell you what you are looking at money wise for them to fix it. Sorry about all the grief. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

Did the three point ever work for you since you bought the tractor or have you never seen it work? This is kind of a key question. If it worked before you replaced the cylinder and then stopped working after you replaced the cylinder then there probably is a connection there. Does this model have both a draft control and a depth control or just one? If you have a draft control it has to be in the right position. I have a 2001 L4610 and it has only the depth control. Did you disconnect any other lines except the cylinder lines? The cylinders are self bleeding.

If the 3 pt worked before, does it have a lockout? Some small tractors have one located on the lift arms that is easily bumped and prevents the 3 pt from working. I had my patience tested... I'm negative.

Thanks guys. All good info. I do not know if the three point worked before I got it. Only tried it a few days ago after getting the cylinder replaced and wanted to mow a field so went to hook up the mower for the first time. I did not specifically ask the dealer if he checked it. I would assume they did when he took the tractor in. He said he serviced it and it does have new filters. I have been wondering about some kind of "lock out as Pootie mentioned but do not know what I am looking for. This tractor ie equipped with Kubota deluxe three point system which has some additional features. The loader and power steering have functioned perfectly since I got it back together. I replaced the hyd fluid that was in the old cylinder and that leaked out doing the cylinder swap. It is very difficult to determine the exact level on the dipstick as it is clear. But since the hydraulics all work except the rear I think all is good that way. The tractor does not have any rear hyds. Probably going to have to load up and take to the local kubota dealer. To the right of the seat do you have two hydraulic control levers or one? My L4610 has only one but if you have two then one controls draft accessories like a plow and the other controls depth like for a mower. The draft control, if you have one, would need to be all the way up for the depth to work properly. On my tractor the panel there has space for two levers but only one is present so some similar models must have two control levers. Did you get an operator's manual with the tractor? That should explain what you have in controls. Kubota really builds a good tractor and if the previous owner took care of it and didn't do any butcher repairs on it, it should work out fine. That is the one problem with buying anything used. I bought mine used with 105 hours on it and knew the previous owner's reason for trading it in and it was not because of problems with it.

Gene, mine is like yours Two slots, one lever. Yes the control under the seat has been in both the open and closed position. Makes no difference. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Check your hydraulic hoses, as triggertreat mentioned. I ran over a small tree with my L3710, and it popped one of the quick couplers loose. Loader worked fine, but the three point lift didn't work.

Figured out the rear hydraulics. Just had to assist it to get it in the down position with some extra weight. Once down it would go right back up. Then forced it down again. Attached my brush hog and now it works fine. Fine tuned the knob that controls the docent. Works fine now. The next issue. I was low on diesel. So got 10 gals. My tractor has a capacity of 11.3 gals. So I put all 10 gals in. Seemed full. So once done I see fuel all over the ground near the front of the tractor coming out all over where the air cleaner, transmission cooler and battery are. WTF? Looks like there is some kind of line coming off the fuel filter runs up near the air filter housing. I am assuming it is some kind of an overfill or over flow? What a mess. So I am not even sure where to access the battery compartment. there is a big metal brush guard in the front. Not sure what I might need to do at this point. I wiped things up as best I could. Am I good to go or do I need to do more? Thanks guys. "Practice like you want to play in the game"
