Forbes is my goto for update news:

Link

I may have to bite the bullet as IOS 14.8.1 isn't getting any more updates apparently, so it's 15 or nothing.

Thanks, Pyker. And a helpful hint for those that may not do this...I ALWAYS do these updates via iTunes so that I get a full backup of my current iOS/phone before updating to the new iOS version. If something then goes amiss, I can restore from its last known good state.

I also like a full backup before updating, so I do an iCloud backup while on WiFi, then I do an update on my iOS. Same outcome but I don't use iTunes.

So far, 15.3 is flawless.

No problems here.
I usually wait for at least a week unless there is some critical security problem when they suggest an immediate update.
If you have a Apple watch there is a minor update to the recent one, less than a week after. I don't know what that's about but press speculation said it was mostly about battery life.
I've done both of those with no problems noticed.

Why...As in why is Forbes your goto for Apple update news, and not a more specialized 'Apple specific' tech expert/industry resource?

When they say it's a critical update with security fixes it get's my attention. Okay... why is Apple seemingly having updates after updates? The bad is there seems to be a bit vulnerability... the good it seems they jump on it pretty quickly. I've been in the Apple world for quite a few years and have never experienced a serious breach. I can't say that for Windows. I've had serval issues that required cleaning the system, a complete reinstall along with all programs and all data. Just to clarify, I'm a Windows guy with my main desktop. I'd go all Apple except I have some legacy PC apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) that I would lose if I dompted Windows.

I phone user should take a look at this to cut down the risk, not saying Android is any better.

For the few PC apps I use, I spent $200 on an off lease PC, placed it in the basement by the furnace, and use the Microsoft RDP client to use it. It works great for playing a few games and doing my taxes with TurboTax. When full screen, it is just like Windows running on my Mac. It eliminated any need to stay with Windows full time.

Updated to 15.3 a couple week ago and it has been running fine. Just downloaded the update a few minutes ago.

Get on WiFi and Connect to Power, then:

Settngs>AppleID, iCloud, Media & Purchases>iCloud>iCloud Backup>Turn on and hit Back Up Now.
