After a months-long standoff, Florida state legislators caved to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ demands and approved a map that decimates four Democratic seats.

Who benefits: Big boost for GOP

Met my congressman Matt Gaetz at a gun show over the weekend. He was gladhanding with a very friendly gunshow crowd. Not sure if this changes my district or not.

It may or may not change a district, but this demonstration of having a spine can't help but boost DeSantis' chances of being nominated (and maybe elected) for the Presidency some day soon.

Does anybody else have a bigger platform than him other than Trump? I know we have other strong red state governors but he's been at the forefront of the fight against the leftist liberals and has been winning.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I know idiots who live in Florida who don't think Governor DeSantis is a huge reason for the success of Florida and why people are fleeing to the state. Well, shit! I don't see people fleeing from Florida to commie shitholes like NY, NJ, IL and CA.

At this point he's got my vote.

Good! Give them back some of their medicine.

They still owe Texas one Rep seat that was taken in the last Census back room jerrymander!

You cant tell me NY state only loses one seat and Texas only gains one. There are so many new Texans around here it's silly. Hope the folks love our heat and mosquitos.

Are they normally in session now? Just wondering how Florida works. Reading this right after reading the NY gun law thread made me angry and wonder.

NY's legislators have been recalled for this super awful emergency to pass more gun laws and can't leave until they do. But that's normally how they pass all the shit laws in NY, last minute, last day, at the end of session, when everyone just wants to leave and will agree to anything just to go. THAT should be illegal, basically passing legislation through extortion.
