At least she didn't harm the alligator while it attacked her. She didn't resist by punching or poking the eyes or something. All she wanted to do was pet it.

This has been on all the news sites here. Others have a bit more details, I suspect she was shit face drunk or on something else.

One report did mention the alligator rolled her initially, released and that is when she made her last words. Alligator returned, took her under and continued its "death roll" and that was it for her.

Oh, the alligator... promptly shot and killed by a deputy Roll Eyes

I lived in Charleston, SC for a few years and I saw them laying near the water on golf courses and other areas fairly often. I walked up to a pond once and came within a few feet of a 12ft gator, it scared the crap out of me. I never, ever had any desire to pet one.

Closed now, but there was a small nine hole par three course just a few minutes from our house. My wife and I used to enjoy going there on our day off.

Just past the first tee, off to the side, was a small pond. One year, a young alligator, maybe eighteen inches or so, lived in the pond.

We never tried to pet it.

What a dope and she paid the price for her stupidity. I was golfing in savannnah in early March. Right as I was teeing off a large crane launched out of the bushes behind me. I turned around to see a gator with his mouth open. He just missed lunch, lol. We moved on quickly.

I grew up in Tampa and was told if it’s water and it ain’t in a cup, there’s a gator in it, or a moccasin.

Words to live by.

When we went swimming in a lake or pond, the first thing we did was beat the cattails with a cane pole to chase out any snakes and run off the gators.

I’ve been scuba diving in lakes and ponds and rivers and encountered them, and the first time it was a freaky moment, especially in dark water. You won’t find gators or snakes in spring water cause it’s cold...
