Help me pick a trailer hitch
The adjustable height hitch is useful to ensure your trailer is riding horizontally level, this keeps excess weight off the back of the truck and proper traction at the trucks front axke.

Also give plenty of room following vehicles until you get used to how your rig will brake and handle the load. Be safe!

The pontoon trailer coupler should be at standard height when boat is level.

Your hitch is at some height relative to the ground.

Calculate the drawbar drop or rise needed, including a bit of weight induced sag.

Buy from reputable sources. Not A. Try etrailers.com

Don’t forget about the possible need for shackles to connect the trailer safety chains. Sometimes the chain hooks won’t fit the hitch chain holes.

I use b+w.

I have the following:

https://www.equalizerhitch.com...XZlnwfBoCoyUQAvD_BwE

My tow vehicles are a 3500 GMC Sierra AT4 HD 6.6 gasser and a Nissan Armada with a 5.6l gasser too (1/2 ton).

When I tow our travel trailer, I prefer the equalizer as the sway control is noticeable, even with the GMC. The B&W is great but on the interstate or with a trailer that has a higher profile, the Equalizer is the superior hitch.

I’m in the camp of buy a single ball and mount that’s the correct size. There’s no need for quick on the go adjustments. You can buy 2-3 single mounts for less than a good adjustable, and they will be better mounts.

And I would not buy aluminum.

Also, get a good anti-rattle pin.k
