I know a few people who fit that description. They don't seem to have any really stupid tatts, or at least none ridiculing a spouse. If they do, they haven't posted it on the internet.

No need to apologize. The guy was a complete idiot and sometimes stupidity can be funny. Disapproving of said stupidity is totally reasonable. Allowing said stupidity to upset one and raise their blood pressure is merely foolishness on the part of the person allowing that to happen.
