Very interesting - hope it enriches your life.
Hits a bit close to home for me as my wife and I are currently in the process of adopting an infant from India - should hopefully happen later this year.

We hope to be able to give the imp a happy family home.

Good for you, man!
We adopted my sister when I was 5 or so. +/- 50 years ago. (Dang!) Just within the last 5 years did she find her birth mother, and some of the back story on the father. Little by little, she was able to uncover more details of his whereabouts. Long story short, her and her family travelled to visit him in the northeast, and communicate regularly. It was good for her to find all this out.

Wow, Ryan, what a trip! Sounds like the rest of your life will be like one adventure after another as you get to know your brother and build relationships with the rest of the family. Offhand, I can’t think of a more exciting discovery.

One of my oldest and dearest childhood friends found his birth mother when he was past 60. He also found out he had several half brothers and all 35 miles away.

He got to spend time with his mother before her passing and he still is close with his half brothers. I went to his mother's funeral and could see the similarities.

Thank you everyone. Here's a quick update:

I spoke with my brother last night and it was awesome! We both agreed that having a new mysterious brother in our lives is the coolest thing ever and are going to make plans soon for a face to face meetup. He suggested we also go shooting together soon.
Yup, that's my kin alright. Big Grin

**UPDATE**

My brother and his family came to stay with me last weekend! Smile
It was like we never missed a beat. We were laughing and crying the whole time and it was AWESOME! Our wives got along splendidly and couldn't get over how much we look, move, and think alike. Genetics is an amazing thing I'm discovering.
He has 2 kids 5 and 10 and they started getting a little bored as we talked so my daughter got out her Nerf gun collection to occupy them but it turned into a full family firefight. The wives and kids were belly laughing as my brother and me teamed up with matching Nerf blasters and very tactically got our asses shot off by our kids.
It was as close to what I imagine Heaven to be as I have ever got.

Ryan, that is a real tearjerker Hallmark Channel story!
My brother and I are separated by 11 years but have many of the same mannerisms and predilections not shared by others in the family.
More to genetics than we usually know.
I’m very happy for you and your newly enlarged family!
