nra-life-memberAnyone a member of Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network? or USCCA?
Thinking of getting "Insurance"
Looked at Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network and USCCA.
USCCA has more coverage with their Elite membership, but Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network seems more affordable and provides more educational material.
Anyone belong to either one or both of them?
What do you think of the benefits of each?
Hoping I would never need any benefit, but one never knows..

arflattopI’ve been a member of the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network for about three years. The educational material is fantastic (several CDs covering a wide range of topics).
While not insurance per se, it has the most important aspect of self defense coverage for me — access To legal help. The network has affiliate attorneys that have expertise in this area. My wife and I just met with one for an initial visit and to size each other up. We now have a 24/7 telephone number in case we ever have to use lethal force.
We live in rural Kentucky and no affiliate attorneys were located near us until a few months ago. In that case, we had a 24/7 number for the networks “Boots on the Ground” program which gets you representation if you don’t have an attorney on call.
Fortunately, we’ve not had to use the network, but it’s comforting to have an attorneys number in my pocket should the need arise.

Many many threads on this subject over the previous few months. You may find info in one of these. The "search" function is not as useful as the "advanced search" function.

I belong to both USCCA and ACLDN, with coverage from both for myself and my wife.
I don't consider myself a wealthy man, but I have worked a lifetime for what I have and I have no intention of losing it all to some thug or thug's family who thinks they can turn my self-defense against his assault into a legal award lottery win for him.
I think a person who carries a concealed weapon needs to be covered for both criminal court defense and civil court defense. And if one ever finds himself in the situation of needing that defense, then the cost of those defenses could easily exceed six figures for the legal defense alone, without including the civil award if one loses.
Neither USCCA alone nor ACLDN alone provides enough coverage. The two together dovetail nicely to provide a more complete coverage blanket.
I also belong to the NRA, but I have not gotten NRA Carry Guard coverage.

c1steveI am a member of the Armed Citizen Legal Defense, and I feel very good about the service that they provide. I have not looked into USCCA, and probably should. Having quick access to specialists in this field is vitally important in my opinion.

wishfull thinkerI subscribe to ACLDN. Like Sapper Steel said, I don't have enough that I can afford to risk it all on a legal defense. The cost like all insurance and insurance-like services, AAA comes to mind, has a minor spiff here and there but you really don't want to use it. I think it comes out to just under $10 a month, averaged. that's the cost of one reasonably good cigar, so I'm used to money going up in smoke.
