Found this on my deck rail this morning. I know what the shape looks like and it has the consistency of a turd, but colors are way off. It’s on a 2x6 for scale. What the heck did this?

Cat puke. If you don't own a cat you might have ferals. Puking on deck rails or anywhere else on my property by cats is punishable by death.

Need more info. What is the consistency? Describe the odor, if any? What did it taste like?
And use the frickin search function. Mysterious piles of puke/poop have been covered
extensively. For example, the recent Ford Bronco thread.

Ya, cat puke! It was something it just ate.

Leave it, it will come back and eat it again later. Razz

Seems a reasonable policy. I think I'll adopt it for dogs that shit in my yard.

Cat owner here. Definitely cat barf. The sound of my cat heaving, no matter where he is in the house, is like a fire alarm—I go into instant attack mode to get him to a hard floor at the least. If there's time, he gets launched into the grass.

Yeah, same here. But I put them on the hardwood floors, if I can. Little fuckers love to throw up on the few rugs and carpets we have, given their choice. Well... that's not entirely fair. We have two and one does that pretty consistently, the other isn't so particular.

I recently saw a cat eating bird seed out of my feeder. I imagine it ended up like that.

It's like a rodeo at my house when we hear it. Mad dash between me, the wife, and the dog to chase the cat off of the rugs. Ours sounds like a car alarm when he's getting ready to let loose - WEEAHH WEEEAHH WEEAHH !

It is easily the loudest sound heard in the house, generated by anything, living or not.

That is definitely cat barf on your deck railing.

Timing. Its everything.

I found one of those not 3 inches from the moccasins I left in the living room overnight.

I know the cat ran clear across the house to get there a split second short of the goal line...

Heard the cat winding up in the carpeted hallway, vaulted off the sofa, picked her up to translocate into the bathroom .. a second too late, sprayed the wall like parti-colored foam from a firehose.
