A Transportation Security Administration agent was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 79-year-old passenger at Fort Lauderdale’s airport, with police saying she was “forcefully pushing her,” a report said.

Janiyah Wilson-Robinson, 21, of Margate, was taken into custody Wednesday following the incident at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to WPLG.

The station, citing a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report, said Wilson-Robinson attacked the woman from Palm Beach Gardens by “forcefully pushing her,” causing her to fall to the ground and hit her forehead.

We can assume the airport has video of the incident?

I never got the impression TSA "agents" had to pass much of a vetting process. I guess I was right.

I lived out in Orange County '02 to '05 so TSA was pretty new. Occasionally, I had to fly out of LAX instead of SNA and I when I did I parked in a bargain parking lot that a lot of TSA employees used as well. A few times, I was unlucky enough to be coming or going at the same time as a TSA shift change. Their assclown behavior on the bus to/from the parking lot helped me realize that the TSA was merely security theater.

If its your unfortunate luck to use ORD, spend time during layover to watch TSA. Lots of small groups of them just standing around chatting with each other and usually nowhere near a security checkpoint.

After I retired I drove a bus part time at the Atlanta Airport, picked up airline and airport employees/TSA at their parking lots and dropped off at the terminals and their workplaces on the tarmac. All previous statements about TSA are on the money, made me more scared to fly than ever. Fortunately spent most of my time on the Delta lot. Looked into the TSA years ago and it seemed like their testing and vetting were pretty strict. I know when I got my SIDA badge TSA regulated them but the Airport Issued them. So who knows how trust worthy they are.
