Wondering if you can UPGRADE (not update) Versions to superior ones?

I know all about firmware updates, but noticed the TV sets i own are one 2.0 and another 3.0 and current versions are around 6.x.
Don’t have those at home but considering moving those Smart TV and replace my non smart TVs with them. I will, if i can tinkle with them a bit.

Why would they want you to be able to do that? They want you to give them money, e.g. for a new TV.

This is why people "root" their devices and install non-vendor-provided software.

It depends.

It is like trying to upgrade an old computer.

It is chip and memory-dependent.

Some of the upgrades can be done, but most can't.
