Gracie Allen is my personal savior! |
Can you tell I drove a series of Jeeps before getting the Toyota? In fairness, my beef with the Toyota is that it does suck gas more aggressively.

Rail-less and Tail-less |
Are they still using the same 10+ year old power plant and tranny? That was my issue with my 2018 Nissan Frontier. 15 mpg was a good day. My current JLU is right around 20 combined. Personally I like a truck/SUV that can go convertible so Jeep’s and prob the new bronco are in in my forecast. I never keep a vehicle longer than 3 years so reliability is never an issue for me. If Toyota came out with a new convertible FJ I would be all over that. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

After some bad experiences with Chrysler products, I thought I'd never own one again, but I recently bought a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and I'm very happy with it. But I think my next purchase will be a Ram 1500 of some variety.

You can't go home again |
I'm in a very similar situation OP. I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland with 178,000 miles on it. It's pretty much perfect for me but I do want to replace it sometime this year. It has not been the most reliable over the years and with almost 200k on the clock it's getting harder to trust, as much as I love it. Like, you I would like to get something different but the Trailhawk does appeal to me. I hesitate to wait for tech redesign though, if the MB based GC was unreliable, I can't imagine how bad a Fiat based GC will be. That said, the WK2 is a very robust design being similar to the MB ML 350 of it's day. Problem is, FCA uses the cheapest bidder for all the components that go on to it and that's where you have problems. In the end, I'm looking hard at the 2020 Ram1500. It's everything the GC was for me but a lot more in terms of towing and hauling capability. --------------------------------------- Life Member NRA “If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to. You guys are living large. I just upgraded my daily driver to a 1999 Tahoe, and I feel like I’m in high cotton because it has great A/C and power locks. Maybe vehicles are like fashion; one day you get to a certain age where you say “Screw it, I’m getting off this train.” That’s how I feel about anything built after about 2004. Demand not that events should happen as you wish; but wish them to happen as they do happen, and you will go on well. -Epictetus
