I just recieved a notification of corrosion in vehicles operating in specific cold climate areas with high road salt usage.
Has anyone else recieved this notice?
I remember the Tundras having frame issues with Toyota replacing frames in the past.
I will have to look under my Tacoma to see if there is any rust. I did spray the entire undercarriage with bed liner spray after I bought the truck.

There were 3 years of Tacoma trucks recalled due to frame rust. I saw lots full of them waiting to go somewhere. Toyota rectified that by paying 1.5 times the book value to the owners. Looks like it was years '95 through 2000.

I had my 2015 inspected in Nov. no issues and they sprayed the frame with CRC. Now warranties for 10 more years? They even gave me a rental car for the day. If you don’t get it done you loose the extended years on the frame warranty.

It was more years than that or they had an additional recall. I had a 2003 Tacoma that was inspected several times by the dealer. Fortunately I had no corrosion at all, but I do remember them having a stack of frames out back. They actually would take everything off your truck down to the frame, and put it on the new frame. I couldn't believe they would go to that expense.

Best I could recall it was 3 years. Todays internet shows 5 years. I saw parking lots full of Tacoma trucks turned in by owners. Another thing comes to mind of this, a FFL I know was quite upset because his truck was 1 year outside the recall so didnt qualify.

I had a 2000 Tacoma bought back due to frame rust, 160k miles. I’m in WI, plenty of road salt, couldn’t turn down the 1.5 times KBB offer.

I brought it in twice, two separate dealers a year apart to tip the deal.

I have a 2008. I got the frame recall in 2016. They found some small holes in the frame so they kept it for 9 months waiting on parts. I drove around in a brand new one and put 15k miles on it while waiting. The also replaced my leaf springs. No complaints here.

I've had two frame recalls. One on a 2003 Tundra, and one on a 2005 Tacoma. Both were replaced at different times. Both went smooth. I ended up selling the 2003 Tundra because it was peeling paint, but it was a solid truck. I think I ended up paying like $23 for a part that was not covered when they took it apart. Before they put it back together I had them put some new shocks and a replace a busted leaf spring I had bought. It's a good time to replace items like that since they are putting it back together anyhow....Later, I priced out what they had in parts, frame, and labor. It came out to BIG bucks.

2006 was replaced. I thought it would be problematic after. Seems Ok. Left a part in the backseat that they did not reinstall and did not use factory fluid in PS unit.

I got a corrosion recall notice for my 2013 Taco last spring. They had it for a couple of days and did the treatment (no new frame).

For a loaner, the guy in front of me got a 4Runner, but I just got a Highlander (glorified mini-van).

I'm surprised you're just now getting your recall notice.

Had a 2001 Tacoma that got the recall notice. Frame checked out fine - no problems and no replacement.

Sold privately in 2018 for something like 6,700. All but 200k miles on it. Still ran like a top.
