| Mine is a 34 yr old Kenmore, Never had any problems with it. Pretty basic unit with freezer compartment on the top and standard refrigerator on the bottom.I never hooked up the water line for the auto ice maker!

Since you said the pan stayed dry, this sounds like an option
Not to jinx myself by posting but I think/hope this is the fix. I checked the drain hose by trying to snake it. As I was messing around with it, the plug came out. It has a little flapper on it that wasn’t flapping very well. I just left the end of the hose off. So it’s just an open hose at the end of the drain. So far it’s been two weeks and the refrigerator has run perfectly. Thanks for everyone who posted suggestions on how to fix this. After spending almost $1000 on trying to solve this problem, it was just a flapper that wasn’t working correctly. And the solution was just to pull the dang thing off.

| If any appliance is over 10 years old and goes bad look to getting a new one. You may like the old one but new appliances today more efficient and cost saving. I other words, let it go. |
