You'll need a 3.5mm jack to stereo RCA cable with the 3.5mm jack plugged into aux in on the back of the Wave and the RCA plugs L&R going to either RCA out on the TV or RCA out on the Dish box. Check your TV and Dish box for RCA audio out. The cable you need and location of aux in on the Wave are shown in your Wave manual around page 12 or so. ORG I attempted to do the same thing with my Wave radio, turns out they are not designed to be a TV speaker...although you sure would think it should work! If your TV is newer and has a port for an optical cable, your TV will likely not allow the Bose to be an output. The guys at Best Buy explained that it is designed to protect your speaker. I think it's designed to make me by a soundbar and optical speaker. As Ronin said, the Wave system isn't meant to be a TV speaker. You *might* be able to get it to work using the 3.5mm AUX input, but you'd be much better off with a sound bar with an optical input that's intended for that purpose. | |||

I have spoken to BOSE customer support and they said that they don't recommend it but that yes the aux input on the Wave can accept the RCA output from either a TV or DISH receiver. | |||

Are you trying to play the Bose sound through the TV setup, or play TV sound through the Bose? | |||

This is Bose covering their ass, nothing more. The Wave is a preamplifier, an amplifier, and speakers, the same thing you find in a TV. The difference is the Wave will likely have higher quality components in a better engineered acoustic cabinet/baffle with better frequency response and more power. In short, it will sound better, especially given flat screens cannot accommodate any cone depth of any type or provide much of a cabinet/baffle. Reasonable care should be take to avoid over driving the Wave particularly during dynamics, but that is not rocket science. The output from the TV or dish box will be line level, the input to the Wave will be line level, the only possible concern is content, so just be reasonable with volume and turn it down if it clips or distorts as you would with any setup. It's really no harder than that, and really no different than playing something like an audio book on an iPod through the Wave.
