Discard all that is not beef.

You're welcome. Smile

I couldn't do it. I ate an entire can of crappy beef jerky together with a pound of hershey's chocolate one Christmas as a kid.

I just stopped puking a couple days ago.

I make my own jerky and it is exponentially better than anything commercially produced so I would just pick it all out. No kidding, it's so easy to make and no chemicals involved.

Absolutely. The best jerky anyone will eat is homemade.

I can't give you precise measurements because I just wing it, but here is what I use.

Any lean beef, venison, salmon (yes I make salmon jerky) cut into about 1/8-1/4 inch thick strips.

Put meat in bottom of glass or plastic container.

Pour in half and half soy sauce and Teriyaki sauce. Enough to cover the meat.

Worcestershire sauce to taste and a very little liquid smoke.

Salt, pepper, brown sugar, meat tenderizer (I use McCormick).

Garlic powder, onion powder and smoked paprika.

Cover and marinate overnight.

Place on paper towels on baking sheet and put in oven set at 170 degrees. Bake for about 5 hours or until it reaches the desired dryness.

Let sit in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before consuming.

YUM!!

If you're a little lazy, Cabela's has some pretty good seasoning packs and just follow their instructions.

Jim
