Also got more on the trade-in than I expected. They tried the “How much are you looking to get for it?” No, you tell me what you will give me and I will say if it is acceptable or not. I am glad it is over as I hate the process, but got the deal I wanted and my wife is happy.
Congratulations. You did it right. Don’t budge a millimeter and fuck all your service plans, add ons, etc. My favorite is the wheel and tire warranty. I laugh at it every time.

PASigReading through this thread once again makes me thankful that I’m glad there are now retail pricing car sellers like CarMax.
I want to go and buy a car like I go and buy a pair of shoes or a loaf of bread, I’m not wanting to be in hostage negotiations in some Middle Eastern bazaar with a seller that I have to resort to threats or playing dumb to get my way. It’s just exhausting.

I couldn’t agree more! I HATE the process. I know how to do it though. I handle each item individually; the vehicle price, the interest rate, the trade-in, etc. It should be as you described. I thought of Carmax, but now they only have used cars as far as I know and we wanted a new 2024.

Mars_AttacksDid you get the Rogue?
If so, use ONLY Nissan brand high flow oil filters and change the oil every 5000 miles.
Use Nissan OEM fluid for transmission maintenance and you will have no problems.

Yes, we got the Rouge. I always change oil every 5,000, but I will certainly follow your other advice. One nice part is the 2024 comes with free oil changes by any dealer for the next three years.
