Here is how I do it: 1-Read up on the model or models you are interested in. Reviews and forums are good sources of information. 2- Know your budget, what payment you can afford and what you think your trade in vehicle is worth. Then stick like glue to these figures at the dealership. If they wont work with your figures, walk! 3- Test drive the vehicle. Make sure it is comfortable and actually meets your expectations. 4- When passed off to the Finance Manager, ignore anything he offers to add on to the deal. If you want an extended (factory only) warranty, shop on line for it. For my last extended warranty the dealership wanted $2400. I bought the same factory extended coverage on line from another dealer for $750. 5- Before accepting the vehicle, have a dealer employee go over and set up all the various electronic systems, Nav systems and vehicle settings with you. Big time saver! A 21 year old kid did this when I bought my Challenger. It was his only job at the dealership! 6- Once its in the driveway, sit in it and RTFM. Happy motoring! Needs a check up from the neck up |
My suggestion was to get them to the bottom line, with your credit pulled rate established, trade allowance done and price cut as far as the manager will go. They they will say, if I can get your payment down to X then will you take the deal, I have to know now before I beg my manager for this. Say yes, then when he comes back to tell you its done, tell him you need to think about it before signing and leave. I have done this for the last 4 cars I have bought and it works every time. They call me the next day or I call them around 3pm and say I got another 750 for my car and and eigth better in rate, if you match it ill come over and sign. __________________________ The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting, it’s not for target shooting … it’s there so that you and I can protect our homes and our children and and our families and our lives. I haven't done this with a car, but it worked for a motorcycle. I had my eye on a BMW R100RS. The dealer was dicking around, so I wrote a check for what I was willing to pay, total out the door, but I did not sign the check. I told the dealer, as I was leaving the store, "There's a check on your desk, along with my phone number. Give me a call if you decide that you want to sell it to me; I'll come back and sign the check, if I haven't bought one from another dealer." I got all the way out the door, to the street where I had parked my old motorcycle, and was just putting my helmet on when the dealer came out and told me that he would accept my offer. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

So my wife has decided on a Nissan Rouge and we are in Austin, TX. We plan to try to get a 2024 to get a better deal. She either wants the SV or SL trim. We were going to go today to look at vehicles to see what color and options she likes, but it rained most of the day. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Ah, much like PASig in the recent Nissan thread, I see we have another forum Francophile that's decided to go with the ultra limited edition Le Nissan Rouge. Just be sure to ask the dealer to adjust the entertainment system and dashboard from its default French language settings. (Unless you and the wife both parlez Francais, I suppose.) And it's a shame it's only available in red. If you want a different color, you'll have to settle for a Nissan Rogue instead.

I’ve been on the Nissan Infiniti forums for as long as I’ve had the internet. You may find some helpful info here. https://forums.nicoclub.com/?s...ba86e048303def2e0437 The “lol” thread

Thanks! After going there, I am so grateful SigForum doesn’t have all the annoying pop up ads that you get there! NRA Benefactor Life Member

You can go through their “internet” sale as guys or the fleet. I negotiate online and then go pick it up since I hate playing their games. It’s worked pretty well for me but I usually put in a credit app with the dealer I want to buy from so they know I can actually afford what I am dealing on.

I daily drive one of the few brick shit house reliable Nissans. Realize that Nissan is hurting bad. Recent thread on here concerning it. Hopefully you’ve read it already. Unless Nissan is willing to severely deal on the Rogue, I would look at competitors from Honda and Toyota. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

If you have a Costco membership look into their car buying program. We bought 2 Toyota 4 Runners using it and they were pain free transactions. We delt with fleet sales rather than salesmen on the floor. Price quoted up front was a large reduction from wind sticker, no dickering back and forth and dealing with their finance people was also painless. My last car purchase was via Costco, and it was wonderful. None of the BS one commonly associates with "car dealers".

fugitive from reality |
I did this when I bought my 2019 Ridgeline. The dealer I went with undercut every other dealer by $1,500.

Interesting. I need to get a new Costco membership regardless and will look into this. I have heard the same about buying tires from them. NRA Benefactor Life Member

The end of the year is a great time to buy, as dealers and manudacturers want to meet monthly and yearly goals. There are also a LOT of SPiFS for salesmen and general managers too. That is Special Incentives for Sale. Note that these incentives are not necessarily placed on the cars you might be interested in. Good luck! UPDATE: Well we got the new car today. Salesman tried all the typical tricks and I countered each one. I got the price I was willing to pay after threatening two different times to walk out. Also got more on the trade-in than I expected. They tried the “How much are you looking to get for it?” No, you tell me what you will give me and I will say if it is acceptable or not. I am glad it is over as I hate the process, but got the deal I wanted and my wife is happy. NRA Benefactor Life Member

. FWIW the dealership advised us when we were financing one of the kid’s cars to not pay off the note too, too quickly if we were so inclined. They were admitting they were ok with gaming the system to the benefit the customer as well getting their credit for the financing. From that I presumed that their benefit was towards the early timeframe of the financing. Bill Gullette

I went ahead and used their financing this time, but we will pay it off much sooner. I even had to negotiate the interest rate. They tried telling me what the rate was and I told them it was too high as we have perfect credit and would walk unless it came down and of course they dropped the rate.
